First Teaser for A House of Dynamite: Nuclear Attack on America

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Netflix unveiled the first trailer for A House of Dynamite just one day after its premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the film received an 11-minute standing ovation and currently holds a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The story portrays the United States’ response to a missile strike, with Idris Elba starring as the President. The screenplay was written by Noah Oppenheim, former NBC News executive and writer of Jackie. The cast also includes Greta Lee, Rebecca Ferguson, Anthony Ramos, Kaitlyn Dever, Tracy Letts, Jason Clarke, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Moses Ingram, Brian Tee, and Kyle Allen.
At the Venice press conference, Bigelow called for global nuclear disarmament: “We hope the film serves as an invitation to decide what must be done with all these weapons. My answer is that first, we must reduce the stockpile of nuclear warheads. How can the destruction of the world ever be a sound defensive strategy? What would be left to defend?”
The Independent praised the film, writing: “A House of Dynamite, screened in competition at Venice, is a timely and grim warning about the renewed threat of nuclear escalation. Another way to look at it, though, is as the most entertaining Hollywood movie about potential mass slaughter since Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove.”
